thank you for booking
your boudoir session with me
Boudoir isn't about becoming someone else. It's about seeing yourself the way everyone else already does. I'm Heather, the photographer behind Jackalope Photography, and I created this experience for people who want incredible photos without the pressure, awkward posing, or unrealistic expectations. No matter your age, size, or confidence level, my job is to make you feel comfortable enough to simply be yourself.
You don't need modeling experience. You don't need to lose 10 pounds. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. I'll guide you through the entire session while keeping things relaxed, fun, and completely judgment-free.
Around here, it's boudoir without the bullshit.
Every session is about celebrating where you are right now. Whether you're doing this as a gift for someone else or, more importantly, for yourself, you'll walk away with photos that feel authentic, confident, and unapologetically you.
I can't wait to create something you'll be proud of for years to come.

Portfolio Highlights

before your session
Drink Water
Hydrated skin photographs better, your lips look healthier, and you'll simply feel better.
Start drinking extra water a few days before your session.
Get Plenty of Sleep
You don't need to be perfect.
Just try to get a good night's sleep before your session. Your skin (and your mood) will thank you.
Moisturize
Dry skin shows up in photos.
Spend a few days moisturizing your body, especially elbows, knees, hands, and feet.
Avoid Tight Clothing
Wear loose clothing on your way to the studio.
Tight bras, socks, leggings, and jeans can leave marks on your skin that may take hours to disappear.
Skip Spray Tans (or plan ahead)
Fresh spray tans can photograph orange and sometimes transfer onto lingerie or furniture.
If you're getting one, do it several days beforehand so it has time to settle.
Hair Removal
Completely optional.
If you shave, wax, or trim, do it a day or two beforehand to help avoid irritation.
Nails
You don't need elaborate nails.
A clean neutral manicure or a classic red, black, or French manicure always photographs beautifully.
If bright colors make you happy, go for it.
Hair & Makeup
Professional hair and makeup can completely transform the experience.
If it isn't already included in your package, I highly recommend adding it. It allows you to relax, be pampered, and walk into your session already feeling your best.

TRY EVERYTHING ON BEFORE YOU ARRIVE.
This might be my biggest piece of advice: try everything on before your session.
What looks amazing online doesn't always fit the way you imagined, and the last thing I want is for you to spend your session adjusting straps or worrying about how something fits. Put everything on at home, move around in it, sit down, and make sure you feel comfortable and confident.
If you decide it's "the one," go ahead and remove any tags, stickers, or protective liners before your session. It saves time and helps us jump right into creating beautiful images without stopping to snip tags or peel off labels.
I also have a client closet that's available for you to browse! You're welcome to try on anything that catches your eye and even mix it into your session as an extra look. That said, I always recommend bringing at least one outfit that you absolutely love—the one that makes you stand a little taller, smile a little bigger, and feel like the hottest version of yourself.
Because at the end of the day, confidence photographs better than any piece of lingerie ever could.

Where Should I Shop?

what about
shoes?
Completely optional. Bare feet photograph beautifully.
If you bring shoes, classics include:
- Black heels
- Nude heels
- White heels (bridal)

- Cowboy boots
Wear what feels like you.
during your session
Take a deep breath—you don't need to know a single thing before you walk through my studio doors. You don't need modeling experience, you don't need to know how to pose, and you definitely don't need to practice in the mirror beforehand. I'll guide you through every pose from your fingertips to your toes, telling you exactly where to put your hands, where to look, how to angle your chin, and even when to take a deep breath. My job is to make you look amazing, not leave you wondering what to do next.
One thing I'll ask of you is to trust the process. Some poses will feel a little awkward, and there will probably be moments when you think, "There is absolutely no way this looks good." That's completely normal! The best photographs often come from positions that feel strange in the moment. Trust me, trust the camera, and trust the process. Before long, I'll be showing you the back of the camera, and you'll see exactly why I asked you to do something that felt a little ridiculous. That's usually the moment when the nerves disappear and the fun really begins.
hair & makeup
Professional hair and makeup is one of the best ways to elevate your boudoir experience. Not only does it help you feel pampered and confident, but it's also designed specifically for photography. Professional artists know how to create looks that photograph beautifully under studio lighting, helping your features stand out while still looking like you.
Many clients tell me that sitting down for hair and makeup helps calm their nerves and allows them to fully settle into the experience before stepping in front of the camera.
That said, if you love doing your own hair and makeup and feel your most confident that way, that's absolutely okay too! This experience is all about celebrating you, and I want you to feel the most comfortable and authentic version of yourself. Whether you choose to be professionally styled or create your own look, we'll make sure you look and feel incredible in your photos.
most importantly
If you've been telling yourself you'll book a boudoir session after you lose weight, tone up, get a tan, grow your hair out, or feel more confident... this is your sign to stop waiting. There will always be another excuse or another milestone to chase. The truth is, you are worthy of celebrating yourself exactly as you are today. You don't need to be younger, smaller, or "better" to deserve beautiful photos. Confidence isn't something you have to bring with you—it usually shows up somewhere in the middle of the session, once you realize just how incredible you already are. So come as you are, trust me to do what I do best, and let yourself enjoy the experience. I promise you'll leave wondering why you ever waited in the first place.
